Pnut Readers On How To Make Debates Better

The 6 moments from the final debate you don’t want to miss

We asked the Pnut community what they thought about the third presidential debate.

If you’re still undecided, you must have just woken up from a coma.

94 percent of readers said it did not affect who they will vote for. What a waste of a Wednesday night.

6 percent of readers said it did affect who they will vote for. Hopefully they were the last of the undecideds.

Our readers are more conservative than Nate Silver.

80 percent of readers think Hillary Clinton will win the election. Nate Silver gives her an 86 percent chance.

16 percent of readers think Donald Tump will win the election. Nate Silver gives him a 14 percent chance.

Chris Wallace was the real winner.

64 percent of readers think he was the best moderator.

28 percent of readers thought Anderson Cooper and Martha Raddatz were the best.

Sorry, Lester Holt.

Finally, some insightful (and quirky) suggestions for future debates:

  • “After 2 minute mark, microphones are cut. Applies equally.”
  • “Shock collars.”
  • “Put a strong school teacher type in charge as moderator!”
  • “Not allow either Hillary or Donald to participate!”
  • “If you interrupt you are removed and put in time out!”
  • “Include 3rd party candidates.”
  • “Have them do skits.”
  • “No live audience. No reporters as moderators.”
  • “That they be actual debates, not playground squabbles full of straw man and ad hominem arguments and logical fallacies”
  • “Every time the candidate lies, Steve Harvey pops out of the floor and corrects them.”
  • “No more debates!”
  • “Won’t matter, the country will have collapsed by then.”

Yes, I want to sound marginally more intelligent:
